My Goals For This Year

posted on August 10, 2014 We just had another amazing #oklaed Twitter chat tonight. I managed to arrive 15 minutes late, so I didn’t get in on the first question or two, but the rest of the questions focused on our goals for ourselves and our students this year. The process of sharing ideas with other teachers and administrators from around our state (and even some from other states!) helped crystallize my goals for this year. For students: As for me, I plan to be more reflective and responsive. I plan to slow down and get  to know my students better. I plan to work with my colleagues to help us all grow as professionals, to better teach our students and to better advocate for our students. What are your goals for your students, and for yourself? Michelle WatersI am a secondary English Language Arts teacher, a University of Oklahoma student working on my Master’s of Education in Instructional Leadership and Academic Curriculum with an concentration in English Education, and a NBPTS candidate. I am constantly seeking ways to amplify my students’ voices and choices.
